Friends of Music on the Green

With the 10th July looming ever closer, the Music on the Green Committee is asking for some support from the local community.

We are looking to source some volunteers to help with the three stages of our event: Set Up; Sell; Strip Down. All we are asking for is a little bit of time from those who can afford to spare it, whether it be an hour on the day, or two hours to help with the Strip Down operation for example.

Set Up - Friday 9th July sees the preparations begin in earnest on the green in Martlesham, and if you are free on that morning and would be able to help to erect the infrastructure (no heavy lifting required, we promise!) we’d love to see you.

Sell - Saturday 10th July is the event itself. If you’re planning to come along with family and friends, and would be able to slip away for an hour to help us sell raffle tickets and programmes through the crowd it would be an enormous help to raise funds for the most worthy of causes, the East Anglian Children’s Hospice.

Strip Down – It’s all over for another year! Sunday 11th will see the dismantling of the fencing etc from the festivities of the night before. If you’re an early bird and would be prepared to give up a portion of your day of rest to help us clear the green, it would be appreciated.

Friday 5th March saw the return of the much loved Music OFF the Green, an evening of music and laughter, at the Douglas Bader pub. Along with an auction, the evening raised £280 to help in our campaign to support our chosen charity, EACH.

Our next event taking place is the Quiz Night, on Sunday 28th March. Tickets cost £5 and include a light supper. Teams of 4 or 6 people are encouraged to sign up, and please call 01473 625394 to book a table for your team.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us make Music On The Green Suffolk's best local music event.

If you can spare a few hours throughout the year to join the MOTG committeee, or a few hours on the day to help us set-up and manage the event then please contact us.
